How Motion works

Motion turns social accounts into live markets, settled in ETH on Robinhood Chain. This page is the whole system.

Passes

A pass is your position in a person's market and your seat in their holder room. You buy passes on a curve, you sell them back to the same curve, and while you hold them you earn a share of every trade that happens after yours.

The curve

Every market uses one price curve: pass number n costs n² / 400,000 ETH. The first pass on every market is free. On a market you open yourself it is yours. On a market we open for someone, it waits for them.

20.00001 ETH

250.001563 ETH
500.00625 ETH

The split

Every buy and every sell pays a 7.5% fee on the curve price, split four ways:

Claiming your market

If a market exists on your account, it is already earning for you. 3% of every trade escrows to you on chain whether or not you have ever heard of Motion. Prove you control the account by signing in with X and everything pays out at once: the escrow, your market's first pass, and every reward that pass earned while it waited.

Opening your market

Anyone can open their own market. Sign in with X and it is live in one tap, with the first pass minted to you free. You own the holder room from the first second.

One person, one market

A market belongs to a person, not a handle. However many accounts you have, they all attach to the one market that is yours. X comes first, then TikTok, then Instagram.

The rooms

Every market has a holder room. Passes are the only way in. The owner runs it: pinned messages, announcements, room rules, who speaks and who leaves.
